Electronic article surveillance (EAS), proudly provided by Danway Industrial and Retail Systems, is a technological method for preventing shoplifting from retail stores or pilferage of books from libraries. Special tags are fixed to merchandise or books. These tags are removed or deactivated by the clerks when the item is properly bought or checked out. At the exits of the store, a detection system sounds an alarm or otherwise alerts the staff when it senses active tags. For high-value goods that are to be manipulated by the patrons, wired alarm clips may be used instead of tags.

All products include models with bi-directional communication with a computer, which permits greater comfort and speed when programming the scales, as well as gathering and sending the information needed for an adequate management of the perishable section to the computer.
The communication protocol has been developed by DIBAL which guarantees the reliability of communication even under the most demanding work conditions.
Scales management is versatile and can be carried out with different Operating Systems: MS-DOS, Unix, IBM-4690 and Windows.
